How do I post or give a reply to emails in a "Group Digest?"?

I belong to several groups from whom I receive Post's in the form of a Digest, many Post's codensed in one email. I still haven't learned how to reply to a particular Post so my reply appears 1 or 2 weeks later in a digest or sometimes it doesn't appear at all. Will somebody please tell me how to do this? There are many times when I have something that I almost passionately need to post but since I don't know how to do this I usually just let it go by even though I know that I'm going to replay my answer over and over again in my mind. If I could just let them know how I feel!!!

I usually make a copy of the section of a digest I am replying to and then paste that to a notepad file. I then add my comments and copy all that and then paste to an email message. I then send the email message to the address of the group.
