Mr. Kosch surely seems to have all the answers ai ?.. You should be whatever you end up being , after you have explored the issues that interest you the most first, and then considered the other side of the equation once you have an opinion.. The thing that lacks on here, actually there are many things that lack here.. but the thing that many people seem to be missing is that, the other point of view is valuable.. not something that you doggedly attack because your buddy says you should , or the television says that's what the popular opinion of the day is.. Lot's o brainwashed people on here just looking to spit at each other and play oneupmanship head games.. very poor excuse for communication really.. Conservative / liberal... how about Fascist or Radical ? I think those are better and more accurate labels anyway.. Lets stop pu$$yfootin around here..

Well I tend to believe that liberals and conservatives are not so very far apart on their end goals, but differ wildly on the best means to achieve them. Liberals believe that the government is a useful tool for addressing the inequities of life to assure equal rights and privileges to all. Conservatives believe that a government invested with too much power and economic control tramples the very rights the liberals seek to protect.

You shouldn't be a conservative because they do not stand for Freedom. They would like to come into your house tell you what you may eat and drink, read, watch on TV. They think the purpose of taxes is to protect their pet industries from competitiion or to reduce your tendency to smoke, drink, or anything else that's none of their business.
You shouldn't be a liberal either. Because they do not stand for freedom or the rule of law. They are nothing more than thinly veiled socialist and communist. They don't believe that the fruits of your labor belong to you but instead belong to them to be distributed as they see fit. They think the purpose of taxes are to use as a weapon of vengence against anyone that is successful, and to redistribute income and wealth in a manner that pleases them. They oppose the rule of law and instead prefer the rule of the mob, and think the will of the majority should over rule individual rights.
If you want to be politically active I recommend becoming a libertarian. They believe in the rule of law, and Freedom. They believe the fruits of your labor belong to you, and that above that you own yourself. That means anything you're doing that doesn't interfere with others is none of the governments business. They believe that the purpose of taxes is to fund the legitimate functions of government not for social engineering or lining the pockets of corporate donors.

Here's my own personal point of view.
If the government wants to make a law, or take an action, the constitution should be read conservatively.
However, for the citizens read it, it should be liberal.

You should because democrats will turn the us into a welfare state that gives your tax dollars to illegal immigrant families, no one will speak english, the streets won't be safe, criminals will go back on the streets, the military would be weakened like hell from all the funding going to welfare, we'd be easily invaded by china ,we'd be a a 3rd world country where everyone fights for their lives, and pretty much america would be destroyed.
If you love your comfortable american life, vote conservative, if you prefer anarchy where everyone's killing and raping each other, vote liberal.
