I been going with this boy for 2 years. when i met him i never knew him nor has my family. I told them his dads last name was the same as ours but they said we were not related. i did it to him and fell madly in love with him. now my family told me we were 5th cousions. i was blown. and my ma and grandma dont want me to see him anymore...but im so in love and he is so in love with me we dont care and still want to be together forever until we die.. What should i do?? it is stressing only me...and my momma said our kids will be mentally chanllege i looked it up and it said they wont...HELP!!!

Do whatever makes you happy. You two have so little in common genetically, that it makes no difference at all. If you really are 5th cousins, the only common ancestor you have is a great, great, great, great grandparent.
Furthermore, in many cultures, cousins marry all the time - even first cousins.
There is nothing wrong with your relationship.

is it legal?all states are different.For some reason i've always thought to marry they had to be at least the 8th cousin but cant be sure.as for the children get a blood test to see if your compatible it used tobe mandatory before marriage.I guess alot of cousins used to get married.

I say follow your heart. Because we cant choose who we fall in love with. My uncle actually married his 4th or 5th cousin and both of their children are perfectly fine. You cant be to much of kin if your families didnt know one another b4 yall started dating!!!

I feel tha if he is not ur 3rd cousin and up hes not tha close so its up to u.....i know a lot of people tha have kids and marry their far away cuz......so if u love him and he love u girl its wha makes u happy..........the kids tha they have none of them r mentally challenge......

A cousin is a cousin no matter how distant!!!!!! Its sick to even be with him............and for you to admit if you two are having sexual relations of any kind even somthing as simple as kissing..........im sorry but its wrong!!!!!!!!
