Does the guy know this rumor is going around? Are your friends spreading this rumor, KNOWING it's not true, or do they believe you ARE seeing this guy? If he doesn't know, and you allow your friends to think this...one day someone will ask him or mention you, and when he tells them it's not true...it will probably be a rather embarassing situation. I'd stop them before it gets too far. If you tell them the truth now, they may be upset with you for a little bit, but they'll know you had the integrity and maturity to want honesty over a fib.

don't get the question what do youmean go further. Just ignore them it will stop. INcollege peopel where convinced my friend and I were involved but we were not. NOw we are both married to different people and our friends laugh about them even thinking we were together

Depends on if you like the guy or not.
If you do, take thing's to a different level. If not.. ah.. the other's will eventually leave you alone in time.
Trying to stop them won't do any good.. you can briefly tell them you aren't seeing one another, and eventually they'll get the idea. :)

this sounds stupid to me. relationships are not about what other people think. it is about you and the person involved in the relationship. if you are going out, you are going out. if you are not you are not. thats about as wise as it gets!

i had this problem just tell them the truth. stay friends with this guy dont let what they are saying get to you. if they dont believe you after yu tell them then who are they to say if you are or not. set them straight.
