I agree with you completely. I like politics and current evernts in general, although I think in the long and short of it its all for nothing for most of us. All we really get to do is vote for what we think is right. It may not be much of a say, but it's better than nothing. Getting all whacked out of shape cause the other guy doesn't agree with you is just crazy. Everyone doesn't have to agree, do they? It would be great to have a site that one could go to to debate things without people getting insulted because others disagree and getting into the whole flaming thing. If you decide to create a site like you are talking about, count me in.

It seems like people get stuck on one point and won't move on. IE: in the immigration section, they can't get beyond the fact that immigration is fine, illegal immigration is not.
And in military, they can't get beyond the fact that our troops are in Iraq. It's too late to be pissing around about who to blame. We only have ourselves to blame, because our elected officials sent them over there. Now that they are there, can't we support them and the president, accomplish the mission and bring them home. It does no good to argue about Bush and Cheney and Haliburton and oil. In the big scheme of things, democracy is needed in the middle east. Even socialism would be good for the middle east, but definately not dictatorships like they have now.
But to answer your question, this forum is just as good as any for discussing the issues, and could be even better if people stopped all the name calling and hatred and just started being the intellectuals that we all think we are.

I agree. I don't know of a Real debate site. I'm beginning to think
alot of the responses on this website are from kids, expressing
the views of their parents.
I mean, it's hard to believe that so many angry, creepy people
are all at the same site - but, alas, they are.
Good luck on your quest.

Good point. But, I don't have chubby fingers. Actually, I'm holding out for the day Yahoo Answers decides to pay us the cold hard cash for points. Hey, it could happen! : )

If you really want to debate, you want to actually talk to a person. I hope you don't take this as being rude, but if you are that frustrated you need to get off the internet and talk to someone face to face!

I think such a site would be nice, but I think it could get real ugly based on what I see here.

Don't take it so seriously. Just have fun, and make fun of the other side. Ask a serious question , and they will come .
