Yes, I do think she was great!! When she ascended the throne, she was only 17, and she ruled there before dying at the age of 39. Live fast, die beautiful. Grossly enough, she was married to her brothers, Ptolemy XIII and Ptolemy XIV, but I suppose that wasn't considered incest back then. After that, however, she married the ruler Mark Antony, and bore him twins. There are a number of unverifiable but famous stories about Cleopatra, of which one of the best known is that, at one of the lavish dinners she shared with Antony, she playfully bet him that she could spend ten million sesterces on a dinner. He accepted the bet. The next night, she had a conventional, unspectacular meal served; he was ridiculing this, when she ordered the second course — only a cup of strong vinegar. She then removed one of her priceless pearl earrings, dropped it into the vinegar, allowed it to dissolve, and drank the mixture. Antony committed suicide, having been told Cleopatra was dead. A few days later Cleopatra died as well by her own hand. The ancient sources generally agree that she was bitten by an asp, as were two of her servants. Octavian, waiting in a building nearby, was informed of her death, and went to see for himself - hence the true story of the tradegy of Romeo and Juliet.
Despite coins and beliefs based on her reputation, it is difficult to know exactly what Cleopatra looked like in real life. In all likelihood, she was not as beautiful as often thought. However, it is generally believed that it was not her physical attributes that made her desirable, but rather her personality, confidence, and intelligence. She is believed to have been physically attractive and well kept, but not of outstanding beauty.
Her language skills certainly assisted in her alliances, being that she spoke almost all of the common Mediterranean languages spoken at the time. She was assertive, outspoken, and strategic in her political and military stance. It is, therefore, most likely that one of her most distinguishing characteristics was her powerful yet manipulative nature.
Well thats all I know but yeah I think she's awesome, I love stories about her.
Hope this helps.

She was very educated and she was from the Ptolemy family who were horrible. In those days there was terrible things going on in aristocratic families, murder and incest to name a few. Her father had people murdered so he could be the top dog and I believe Cleopatra may have had her 1/2 brothers murdered. I do believe , after seeing several documentaries that she was murdered by Octavian, not by her own hand. Octavian was afraid her son with Caesar would rule both Rome and Egypt, so even though Cleopatra sent him away, Octavian had him murdered.

something about this question doesn't ring actual. Alexander the entire predates Cleopatra by technique of merely about 250 years. Alexander pulled at the same time the numerous little international places that on the prompt make up cutting-aspect Greece. inspite of the undeniable fact that historic Greece with it is democracy grow to be a a million,000 years formerly. Alexander conquered lots of the usual international (to them) stretching his empire from the Balkan peninsula to the borders of Afghanistan. i think his destruction of Persia saved the Persians from attacking the west back. Alexander placed royal Greeks on the throne of Egypt so as that Cleopatra grow to be Greek lineage no longer Egyptian. eu no longer African. Cleopatra grow to be the spouse (lover) of Julius Ceasar and bore him a son, Ceasar grow to be assassinated by technique of Brutus and the Roman Senators. Ceasar grow to be avenged by technique of Marc Anthony who took up with Cleopatra. They were both defeated by technique of Cassius, Anthony grow to be killed and Cleopatra took her personal existence with an poisonous snake. there is a few debate about that very last. there is a few info that Cleopatra grow to be murdered because the perfect Queen of Egypt.

She is my favorite historical figure and a role model for a lot of women. I like her because, contrary to modern thinking, she was not beautiful and it was not her looks that attracted men. She was brilliant, a great military strategist, spoke 7 languages, was the only Egyptian Pharaoh that actually spoke the language of her people, and she managed to seduce two of histories great men. I have always thought it was a great shame that her son with Julius Caesar was killed by Octavian, what a blood line that would have been!!

With a name like mine, I am obviously a fan. She was one of the smartest leaders of her time. She tried to keep Egypt free and she almost succeded. Her only downfall was because Octavian was even more cunning.

She was a Greek Queen of Eygpt, the last. It appears that she bought about the end of her dynasty. She wasn't beautiful and she wasn't great and didn't achieve anything positive.
