You're assuming a lot! No where in the Bible does it say that Adam & Eve were white. Just because you've seen some lovely paintings of Adam & Eve, only means that that's how the artists chose to depict them. Kinda like, it's doubtful that Jesus was fair skinned with long blonde hair!
God inspired the Word, apparently He didn't think that it was necessary to explain EVERYTHING to us. There are simply things that we don't need to know. You can ask Him if/when you get to heaven.

Do you want a scientific answer or a myth?

Scientists, using mitochondria DNA (passed down by the mother) have determined that all races stem from one initial race, and that race was most likely African. Sorry about that white thing. You probably think Jesus was white too! By the way, yes, I am caucasion.

So in a Biblical context Adam & Eve were most likely black. You do realize that the whole adam and eve thing is a METAPHOR? RIGHT?

Adam & Eve weren't white. They were what ever color you call people from the Middle East. Christianity started there, but eventually Europeans (white people) became most of Christianity's followers, so that's where this Adam & Eve were white thing came from.

i dont know if adam and eve were white because "white" is just a term that comes from america, so its like a mix of everything. yea adam and eve's kids slept with eachother, because in those days, it was ok. after a long time, when there was enough people on the planet, god made it not ok, and thats also around the time people started dying at ages under 100, instead of 400+. have you ever heard of when people tried to build that building to reach the sky because they thought it was the only was they could reach heaven? well god stopped them, and punished them by making each of them speak a different language, and by looking different. thats where we got different languages and looks.

Despite whatever God said or wrote down, skin colour is determined by the amount of sunlight the people of that region received. The sun hits your skin, and your skin produces melatonin, darkening the skin. This is how you tan. But, biologically, and, ahem, evolutionally, the more sun your archaic ancestors had to deal with, the darker the skin. This is because this increase in melatonin became part of the DNA passed down. African peoples received far more sunlight than the ones in Northern Europe.

The people who wrote the various creation myths which led to the development of the "Adam and Eve" legend were not white. They were olive-skinned Semites.

Regardless of the error in your assumption, the evolution of human beings had nothing to do with the myth you describe. We evolved from hominid species in Africa. What color their skin was is unknown and in any case irrelevant. The current races all evolved from the same species in Africa; racial differences developed after a number of migrations of this species from Africa, when geographically isolated gene pools underwent minor changes as adaptations to their local environments.

Groups of human beings in tropical areas, for example, developed sickle cell traits. The dominant form of this trait causes red blood cells to form a "sickle" shape when attacked by Malaria microbes. White blood cells and antibodies are sensitive to such a change, and destroy both the infected cells and the attached microbes. Thus, people with sickle cell traits are more resistant to Malaria than those in the Temperate and Arctic regions.

The recessive form of the trait, BTW, causes spontaneous sickling of red blood cells even when no Malaria microbes are present. This gives rise to the condition known as "Sickle Cell Anemia". Overall it reduces life expectancy in inflicted individuals. However, because more people in a gene pool would die of Malaria if the dominant form of the trait were not present, the recessive trait has survived.

This is evolution in action. It can be seen happening here and now, as well as can the evolution of treatment resistant microbes and viruses.

There is more proof to the theory than fossils.

No man was origanally probably olive.

The map of skin colors varies with the intensity of the sun. White peoples skin became lighter so it could make more Vitamin D from the indirect sun, while african skin became darker for protection from the strong sunlight.

Please see the link below for a more complete analysis (including a map).

why would you assume they were white? I mean this little garden was in the middle east .. israelis are kinda dark .. naa their are no other races .. we are the human race . skin pigment evolved over 10s of thousands of years. and depended on the location of the person. light skin in the north, darker in the south and of course darker again in the snow (and smaller eyes to block reflection of sun). Transferrance of skin tone will occur more and more .. some have referred to it as the browning of america.

oh and when you are done baiting the xtians and the thinkers with the argument over religion, you should never believe as fact a *book* that was written a reported 4-6,000 years ago .. you know they thoguht the world was flat, the sun revolved around the earth and that people should get stoned for dissin there parents.

Read the bible my daer. God created adam and eve, who had three sons, whom he also created wives for, and they populated the earth. Keep in mind every person lived till they were about 900 years old back then so they had plenty of time.
In genesis, a tribe of people begin to build a tower, the tower of Babel. They decided to make it high enough so they could reach heaven and be equal with God. But this angered the Lord and he struck the tower down, and turned everybody into speaking a different langauge. He did this so they would be unable to communicate with each other and therefore not complete their tower nor attempt another. Everyone was a different race and they all walked around babbelling, hence the name - Tower of Babel.
Hope this helps.

Why are you assuming they were white? Human kind has been linked to one woman in Africa. People are different races because of the area of the world they came from. For instance, people from really hot, sunny climates have dark skin. This protects them from the sun.
