If your meaning of big ego is oblivion to your faults and the rights of others, then there are no benefits.
If on the other hand you have a healthy strong ego, then you will view obstructions as challenges to overcome, & motivate yourself and others to succeed. As we say in Australia:
Winners are grinners and the rest can please themselves.

Well depends on how big the ego is, usually people do not tolerate people who think they are great, the only benefit I can see is even if noone in the world loves you, you have enough love for yourself to sustain.

If you ask me, big egos are no big deal. Most people can tell if you are full of it, and move on. If it makes you feel better to think you are better than everyone else, then go for it!
