Family/friend baby sitter would be preferable, but ONLY if they are reliable and will not "jump ship" on you abruptly. This could leave you scrambling for child care possibly in the middle of a work week! If you do decide to go with a family member or friend to watch your child, get everything in writing (i.e., fee, hours/days, discipline if necessary) so that there are no misunderstandings. Good Luck and Congrats on the new baby!!!

I have been a licensed home daycare provider for 20 years and have been privileged to be entrusted with the care of 50 children. Even though childcare is my business, I firmly believe that if it is at all possible, having a stay-at-home-mom or a stay-at-home-dad is the number one choice for children. If that is not possible or not the choice of the parents, then having a dependable, loving, consistent family member is next best. So many people do not live close by to extended relatives, however, and finding a dependable, loving, and consistent caregiver who either comes to your home or who you take your baby to can be a very workable solution. Being licensed by your state, does not make a caregiver the right choice for your baby. It is important to interview, visit, ask questions, and ask for references from any daycare home you consider. Daycare centers are also a viable option for some families. What is best for your baby and your family will be different than what is best for others. Investigate all the possibilities and see what feels "right" to you.

For a two month old, definitely a family member or friend! I put my younger son in daycare when I went back to work (12 weeks later) and the first week he was there, he caught viral meningitis and was in the hospital for three days. :( The other infant this lady cared for had a common cold. For some reason, when my son caught it, his turned to meningitis. (The same virus that causes the cold also causes meningitis in some patients.)
If you're worried about your baby socializing, sharing toys, etc., wait until he/she is a little older and has built up more of an immune system before putting in a daycare center.

Depends on the specifics of the situation. As a mom I advocate for family.. The teacher side of me says day care because too many children come to school without social skills that are greatly needed. You need to consider things like your income and how long each day you will need the services. These should be part of your final decision making.

Family or friend for sure; someone she knows and who knows you will be way better while she's still an infant. Babies automatically feel more comfortable in their own home than in a strange place with virtual strangers. I would advise against daycare untill at least 2 years.

I AM in your EXACT spot girl my son is 2 months old as well and I just started going back to school.Honestly it is up to you and whatever your comfortable with. Yes having your family watching your son/daughter would be great because of bonds and their family of course! But you got to look @ the bigger picture for your childs sake I was going to have my son be watched by my cusion But she smokes and we found out he had asthma and I was like HELL NO! So theyre is all kinds of things to think about trust, how much theyre willing to watch them for THE LOCATION (WHO WOULD BE CLOSER) just qwrite down questions that are important TO YOU AND YOU ONLY ITS YOUR BABY! AND WHATEVER YOU SAY GO! But this is what I think about daycare you baby is 2 months old your baby will want to start interacting w/other babies but I dont recommend daycare (tons of germs) I think A PRIVATE DAYCARE WOuld BE best Honestly if your thinking along the lines of babsitting AND MAKE SURE U ASK THE COMMON ?
MONEY LOCATION SMOKING POLICY CERTIFICATIONS (MAKE SURE THEY ARE A CERTIFIED AND LEGIT BUSNESS AND ARE UP TO DATE ON LICENCE) GOOD LUCK HON IM GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING!

an effective stability between a professional day care middle and infant sitter is an in-abode day care middle. It has fewer youngsters than a professional day care, so infant receives more beneficial one million on one million interest. They fall ill a lot less oftentimes with the aid of a lot less publicity to ill youngsters. even if the quantity of interest they get might want to not be an analogous as that with a touch one sitter, yet in addition they get the benefit of agency of different youngsters. you may want to imagine they are too little to care, yet I genuinely have seen my daughter learn new issues so quick via observing different youngsters in her day care. also, with infant sitter, it truly is mandatory to employ someone who you genuinely trust, it truly is hard to locate if you're new to an section. also, i'm a touch paranoid and can want to experience uncomfortable with a touch one sitter because there is not any thanks to entice close if she's taking perfect care on your absence. In case of in-abode day care, a minimum of the man is in radar of many father and mom. seem on-line for inquiries to ask vendors. there are a large number of solid lists of questions.

My mom watches my neices and nephews...being with family they get individual attention and you know they are in safe hands, and also they seem to be a lot happier when I see them...just remember you never know what happens when you're not there so I wouldn't risk it. Also, if you choose a friend and there is any type of payment arangement, write a contract and make copies...I've seen too many friendships sour over stuff like that...

if you have family/friend, would they come to your house? That is the only way I would say friend/family and I would put a hidden camera in the house. You know the kind you can hide anywhere. Hey if they are not doing anything wrong then they never need to know you have one. Just my 2 cents.
