I think that poor parenting, combined with violent video games, might spur some kids to violence. Video games on their own are not the cause though.

I think a person is affected by whatever environment they spend a lot of time in.
Studies have shown that violent video games certainly cause aggressive behavior in children. Unfortunately, many children are left to the demise of television, computer, and video games because the parent or parents are too busy just trying to make ends meet.
As far as killing others -Well, I don't think that it happens that often, but there have been some documented cases.

No..
Video games don't create a violent person. People use that as a crutch so that they can't be blamed for raising their children a wrong way. Alot of the reason why people kill each other is from human emotions and how certain people deal with things differently. I have played violent video games for most my life (I'm 23) and I don't kill people from that.
The only thing video games cause are seizures from all the blinking and flashing lights, and sore thumbs from Halo 2 tournaments.

I remember watching a CSI episode in which these college-aged kids were acting out the video games they played, and actually murdered people. Does this happen in real life? Of course not, but video games, R-rated movies, "gangsta" rap music and other violent forms of entertainment can definitely influence someone. While said entertainment isn't a *direct* cause per se, it can give impressionable people sinister ideas... that they could employ as a solution to conflict situations.
That's my take anyway. For a professional study, click here: http://www.apa.org/releases/videogames.html

Violent video games can cause people to become violent. One time I saw a video called "Mind Over Media." There was a prisoner, who was a rapist and murderer, sharing his story. He said that he started to become violent and do terrible things after he had seen some movies. It's scary because many don't believe that certain video games and movies can affect them psychologically. Many found out when it was too late. Can video games cause people to kill others? I would say, "It's possible!"

No, there's been alot of case studies and they all show different results, some say it can cause kids to act more violent others say it doesn't. More violent and killing people are 2 different thing. It's more of a: "a more violent person naturally is drawn to more violent video games then someone who's less violent in nature" sortof thing.

When you play violent games, it will desensitise you. In other words, you will feel that all those violent actions are common. You might regard your victims like one of the players in your video game. The difference is that, you cannot reboot and there are no such thing as video life. When one dies in real life, there are no reboot buttons, no extra life, no next level. There are consequences in every action.
Although there are no formal studies which directly links violent video games to violent behaviour, there is a huge risk.

I don't think it can cause people to kill others. What it can do is numb people to the experience of death. People are extremely adaptable, so when surrounded by disturbing, violent situations, they will have a numbed response. While this may not actually drive people to kill, it makes it makes the act of killing much less traumatic.

no but i think young children have tendencies to be violent if they are exposed to such violent games as young children. They cant seperate fantasy from reality so they grow up thinking that video games are a real-life game.

No.
Back in the 80's they blamed Rock'n'Roll for violence.
Now they are blaming video games and movies. When the music today is 1000 times more explicit than it was in the 80's.
The only one to blame for a killer is the killer themselves. History proves that.
