my ipod nano got erased but it still has all the songs in the library but i cant transfer them into my ipod nano and i tried updating my ipod to what should i do

If you are using iTunes, you should be able to use File-->Import, then select the location of your songs.

when this happened to me, I went on itunes, then on the help section, I clicked on 'check for Itunes UPDATES'
Then it located all my songs, it took time to copy i back onto the ipod but I nearly cried...this was becasue the electric cut off in the flat and I was asleep for about an hour, so the ipod was not charging...the ipod needs a constant feed of charge to stop the songs from erasing.
