if so what is the term for the end tied to the anchor?

Yes, it is called the bitter end, because if you lose it, you have lost your anchor. I don't think there is a specific name for the part tied to the anchor.

Yes it is the end of the anchor rope secured to the anchor box. Or the end of any cable, rope or chain

Yes it is, because if it becomes loose from the anchor bit, it will truly be the bitter end of your anchor.
