You should have about 4 more factory resets left. But it will cost you.
Look for a rpc1 firmware for your model here. You might get lucky.

regions are an absolute nonsense and a rip off. I have "region killer" on my laptop. it grays out the need to put in regions.

Assuming you mean "region" in terms of using different video-viewing formats, the answer is that you can't, you will now have to pay for software that will allow you to watch different DVD formats. Sorry!
