I want to order his jersey but it's not officially out yet, so I want to get a customized one with his name and number - but I haven't seen it anywhere. On the Kings roster site it says it's 8, but I want a confirmation on that. Thanks.

Like you said, the Kings website has hime wearing #8. Also, he wore #8 during the summer league. There could always be a number switch during the preseason, so you may just want to wait.
