Of course you can, but not if you have a gigantic hole where people can actually see all the way through your ear - that just drives clients away. You may need to take the earring out during working hours.

In a profession such as law, accounting, or medical care, an earring tends to make the male wearer (especially over the age of 30) look very immature. A profession where a male wearing an earring would look acceptable, but perhaps eccentric, is architecture. If you become a professional, chances are you will want to keep an appearance that garners more clients, rather than makes them wonder if you're not serious about your profession. Prospects of a higher income will quickly make the desire for an earring disappear. And, in case you might also be wondering, forget nose rings.

No, it acts like a beacon screaming "Look at me, I am a big kid." Although you may get the job, remember that it is the clients that bring in the money that allow you to keep the job. Clients, especially in the fields you listed, do not want immature people working on them. That is it. Now, think about this... few clients... few dollars... little profit... no job. Now, in the medical profession, piercings are considered unsanitary. In fact, I know of a lawsuit won against a doctor for having a pierced earring in during surgery. The patient sued for having a voluntary source of contamination in the OR. You want to bet that doctor is sorry now.
If any teenager is reading this, reconsider that piercing or tattoo.

Pierced ear ok and can even wear the earring -ONCE_you are esatablished as a lawyer and you have your own ofice. In general, though these professions are lowkey and traditional so when you first start out atc you're wise to see that you shouldn't wear earring to interviews and so on. If you plan to go into these professions-do not get visible tatoo for can have you not get hired.

For some sales and marketing professions, they don't really care if you are "hip" or youthful looking.
For a doctor or lawyer, you probably should not wear your earring unless you are at home. Judges, clients, patients want to see a professional and an earring, in society, is considered unprofessional.

Of course. Absolutely. Now a days, earrings are more acceptable. It depends on the office policy. But if women wear them, then there is no reason you cant. They wont say no to you because of anti-discrimination laws. If you wear a small diamond or a silver stud or even a small gold hoop...they look nice...even with a suit.

i would think so. i have a pretty respectable profession (i am a district coordinator for a liquor distributor) and i have my nose pierced and wear it. even when i meet with the owners of bacardi , etc. i also am going to law school and had an internship at a pretty big lawfirm and they let me wear it. it is all how you carry yourself. i have another friend who is a doctor and he has a full sleeve tattoo. he wears longsleeves at work, but everyone knows. an earring is definitely not a big deal. good luck in all you do.

Just be sure to remove the earring for the interview. Also you might want to wait until probationary period is over to show it around the office. I would not recommend wearing it in front of patient or client.

Well I have my ear pierced but Im not a allowed to work with it in my ear so I take it out.
Of course you shouldnt go to a job interview with an earring in your ear, but that shouldnt stop your from getting one. Just take it out when you work.
