Contingencies are the factors that can affect the outcome of something.....like you getting your homework is contingent on your motivation level.....
Getting good grades is contingent on your effort.....
Understanding a concept is contingent on your focus.....
Contingency theory involves the variables that can affect the ourcome.....they are basically what something depends on to happen or not....the whole if x, then y thing....it emerged when someone couldn't accept what they were told, with blind faith, and began to examine what it takes to do this, or what could affect that.....and the implications are all about the probablilty of an outcome, based on the variables.....
