Ok I've been asking questions about anime and they always mention manga what is manga

Many people might say "Manga are Japanese comics, and Anime is the Japanese version of animation. Anime is usually, but not always, the animated version of popular manga." That's partially true, but it can be misleading. (Note that "anime" in Japan technically means any animated film, and "manga" IS any printed cartoon, but people in the rest of the world take them to mean animated films or comics from Japan.)

Japanese comic books. A lot of anime is based on manga, and most of the anime style is imported from the manga. Pretty important in japan, probably more than the anime.

Manga is a comic from japanese. They are a lot different than american comic. Compare the picture of, for example, Garfield picture and Naruto picture. Manga picture have more details like shading, value, more 3-D, more expressions, and it has different body shapes. American are more flat, 2-D, and the body shapes are like more like "nothing" (dont know how to expain that). But u get the point.

Manga is the comic book (printed) form of Japanese cartoons. Anime is the film or tv form.

manga are the cartoons for the girls. anime is more directed at men, but both sexes can watch either. "sailor moon" is manga, for instance
