No that is mathematicians. 0.99999 is not technically equal to one, though it repeats into infinity, it never is, it never reaches 1. The *limit* of the graph of 0.99999... is equal to one though (because 1 is the limit of the repeating decimal).

While 1/3 = 0.333..., and 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 1, and 0.333... + 0.333... + 0.333... = 0.999 which is not equal to 1, here is the answer behind that.

1/3 does and doesn't equal 0.333... Here is why - 1/3 is an inaccurate representation of 0.333, it shows the limit of the decimal, but since it works out in the math, it is taken for equality. You see, if infinity were measurable, and 0.333... went into infinity, it would theoretically THEN be equal to 1/3. But infinity is not measurable in math.

yes they do! its done every April 15th when you do your taxes and round off.
