You can prevent unwanted communications in YM by ignoring people...All you have to do is go to "Preferences" (you can find it on Messenger Menu) then go to "Ignore List" tab and then choose "Ignore anyone who is not on my messenger list". Only those people you have added on your list will be able to send you messages...hope this helps... =D

This happens to me often. It depends on your username and how generic/guessable it is. People sometimes guess usernames to see if they find someone at the other end. At other times, they may just *think* that they have the correct username, but then be wrong about. Alternatively, they may misspell the name of the intended recipient.

If your husband does ever question you on this, mention to him the above reasons. Also, just ignore the requests and that should also show that you're not engaging in discussions with these people.

When people first contact you, you should have the option of saying that you do NOT allow them to put you on their contact list. You can also specify that you never want to be contacted by them again.

IMs are more beneficial effectual. Chat rooms get cluttered with web content to porn and different bots so there particularly isn't any element. if there have been chat rooms that were uncluttered, then it would want to be more beneficial effectual because you may have more beneficial evaluations/convo than ims

It might have been me, if it has FCCA in it, but don't worry i'm not the police, altho I wish I was. I was trying to find this IM that I forgot and trying to guess. To keep this from happening...well in this case Bush better hurry up with that stem cell research before we forget out friends IM's.

Your yahoo account is usually available to anyone who wants to take the time to go through the yahoo directory looking for interesting people to talk to. You do not have to be in a chat room for them to find you. Although if someone does IM you and you are not interested in talking to them tell them to go fly a kite and hit the ignore button (It always works for me :) )

Check out your profile here. If you have checked that they can IM you, they can. Uncheck it!
