Try living in Europe mate. You complain but our prices are MUCH higher than yours.
You should appreciate the quality of life you have as you are just that top percent of THE WORLD.
Yes, walk to work and use windmills, its better for the rest of us than those huge gas guzzling monsters you drive.

Floridians!! Do you know how much us New Yorkers pay for gas. My dad lives in upstate NY and he paid 3.40 the other day for a gallon of Gasoline! Everything is more expensive up there. Plus, if i lived in Florida I would walk everywhere anyways. Do you know what's it's like to get a snow storm where you get 6 inches and hour for 2 days straight AND it's -35 degrees out! Count your blessings, if high gas is the biggest of your worries then i'd say ur doing pretty well.

I understand EXACTLY where you are coming from.
Those people who say they would walk everywhere, don't understand that in Florida, if you walk, you melt. Nothing is within walking distance, and if you walk or ride a bike, you are taking your life into your own hands. Florida has one of the highest pedestrian and bicyclist death rates in the country.
FPL and ProgressEnergy are money grubbing nasties. everybody here is. The cost of rent is enourmous, on average, a one bedroom dump here runs 700-800 month, and that is a dump. There are thousands of jos, if you want minimum wage, no medical, dental. Insurances are much more here than in most parts of the country. People are selling their homes because they can no longer handle the cost of insurance or they have been dropped by their insurance company because of the hurricanes, even if they had no damage. Crime is rampant, violent crime is up and white collar crime is out of hand. Most every politician is getting his palm greased by somebody. I can't wait to get out of this state, just waiting for the right job opportunity to show itself.
Florida, Paradise? Please!
