it's the ratio X+3 : 2-X

according to wikipedia
"In algebra, a ratio is the relationship between two quantities. It is expressed as the quotient of two numbers, or as two numbers separated by a colon (pronounced "to"). A number that can be written as a ratio of two integers is a rational number."

Ratio means 'divide'. For example if there were 80 people and 10 tables, the ratio of people to tables is 80 / 10 or 8 people per table.

The ratio of A to B --> A/B

Doing this for your expression, it's a simple matter of replacing 'plus' with '+', 'ratio' with '/' and 'minus' with '-'

So it is simply (x + 3) / (2 - x)

Written as a fraction, it would look like this:

x + 3
-------
2 - x

(x + 3)/(2 - x) The meaning of ratio is that you have a division problem comparing the two expressions.
