I think this what you meant:
(x+2)(x-2) factors out to x2-2x+2x-4=0
simplified to x2-4. (-2x and 2x cancel out)
x2-4=0 is simplified further by adding 4 to
both sides of the equation. You'll get x2=4
and 2 squared is 4 so x is = 2
You should probably show your check step too:
2(2)=4

Have you learned Algebra?
If you dont know, it camefromthe concept of algebra........especially FACTORING.....
Therefore, (x+2) (x-2) is the factor of x squared minus 4..........whereas, (x-2) (x+2) is the factor of x squared minus four.......the same dude........the same application.........
