I really don't understand the sport of killing for fun(hunting). I know people say they eat the meat and all that stuff. But, I know a lot of hunters and they spend more on hunting equipment than it would cost to buy meat at the store. I have, also, never seen a hunter that wasn't all hyped up about killing a deer or whatever they are killing at the time. They think it is the most fun you can have. They look forward to hunting season more than anything I know of. So, killing for food is just a bunch of crap. Yeah, I do live in a red-neck area, but not all the men are animal killers. By the way, I am not a vegetarian. I just don't think you should kill anything for fun!!

Not feeding an animal usually results in an agonizing prolonged process of dying. Shooting a deer is a relatively quick process, and the deer only suffers for a few moments to a few minutes. Granted to people who truly empathize with the plight of animals, this is mere semantics.

Well for one thing, shooting a deer is generally not as painful as starving them.
For another, shooting a deer has a purpose; starving an animal is a dereliction of duty.

Deer hunting is allowed in order to keep the population at bay. I guess they would overrun us if we let them!
I don't agree with it, but it is the practise.

are you talking about feeding wild animals or pets. Its cruel to feed wild animals. They don't learn to find food for themselves. Pets must be fed. They depend on you. If you don't intend to feed your pet, don't get any. Also don't have children. They have to be fed too.

its for food. i do it all the time. dont worry, i use a very high-powered rifle, and i aim right for the noggan. they usually dont feel a thing. if they're still alive when i pull the trigger, i kill them as soon as i can. i love hunting, but i try to be just a little humane.

The death is quick . Where-as starvation is slow and painful maybe days to weeks.
Personally I think sport hunting and fishing (not for food) is cruel and a waste.
