I say no. What is a god without worshippers? Just an extremely powerful being. You can't have a leader when there's no one to lead, and you can't have a god without people to worship them.

Like the first answerer said, it depends on which god you're thinking of. The god which many religions believe created mankind and/or the universe, apparently felt some need or desire to create us, so the answer to that would be no. A god that could exist completely independently of us naked apes and the universe we inhabit, would be a god that didn't create our universe or us (why would it?), nor would it intervene in our daily affairs, nor would it listen to or act upon our prayers. In short, such a god would be indistinguishable to us from having no god at all.

No. I don't think so because there must be expression. Energy must extend itself or it is no-thing. There must be intention for existence.
