It takes up ram, until it completes downloading, at which time it takes up space on your hard drive. When you execute the downloaded program it returns to using ram until you complete what you are doing with the program.

It takes up space on your hard drive. Anything you download can be set to open when your computer boots up. This will eat up a lot of memory.

Yes. Anything will take up memory on either the hard drive, or on a floppy, if you save it there. As noted, when you run a program, it will use RAM also.

Downloading from the internet doesn't eat up your memory, i don't mean i doesn't take up ram at all, but quite little, however, download managers do (if poorly written).

No.... it takes up memory when you run a program or open a file.
When you download something, it will use up hard drive space.

not a whole lot of your memory but it CERTAINLY uses up some of your PC's memory with a varying amout depending on the size of the download.
