In Toms own words, the song is about massive destruction, ie the end of Blink, but great hope and optimism, ie with new band Angels And Airwaves.

i love AVA... most of their songs dont have a very clear meaning... but valkyrie missile i think means... just leave all bad feeling behind... something along those lines...

yeah.. it sounds like a destruction of something.. or maybe an end of something.. and obviously that's about blink.. but i think when tom wrote it, he wanted it to be general coz some parts of the song is less personal. he just suddenly switches it to relationships in general. but it's about the whol AVA thing, and blink seperating. then he talks about hope of a new relationship. again, he tries to make the song general so poeple can relate more i guess, but you can tell that he probably wrote that part to show that he has hope that the people would love AVA as much as they loved blink.
