Why when an emo song plays on my stereo I listen to it and why do I enjoy Hawthorne Heights and Fall Out Boy when they weird me out. I feel this is a serious issue.

because you are to intrested in proving your metalness, instead of being yourself. I think the great Phil Anselmo said it best.. Be yourself by yourself. Like what you like, to hell with who dont like it.

Just because you like metal doesn't mean you can't like other types of music. That doesn't make you any less cool. I love Metallica, Rammstein, Nightwish, Trivium, Kittie, and a lot of metal bands. But I also love Styx and Josh Groban. And even that emo "marry me" song on the radio...which weirds me out to no end.

Relax.I've been a metalhead for 23 years and I'm 34.So do the math.I was never a "poser"! I still go to shows and my favorite band is Slayer who I just saw a couple of months ago and I still hear songs done by alot of "fag" bands and other kinds of music and I know it doesn't make me any les metal.Same goes for you.But try not to buy any of that emo crap! LMAO

Subliminal messages. I have been a metal head my whole life and once in a long while I'll find myself singing an emo song regardless of if I like it or not.

if your so hardcore metal, then why do you care what other people think about the you listen to? if you were a true metal warrior, then you would smash any who would dare to make fun of your music choice..

Have you recently found that you are more attracted to the same sex? If yes, it could be a side effect of listening to emo.
You may want to consider counseling. Good luck.
