seems to me, if your not white, rich and beautiful, the media doesn't have much time for ya, how much coverage, would a black child have received?

well i think that the media puts up what catches people attention and what caught their attention is the rich ppl doesn't' have to be white just rich and young with a little mystery and JonBenet was all that so she got attention especially that her family were the prime suspects that's what made the story get that much of coverage.

A pretty little rich or at least middle class black child would have recieved plenty of attention. It's the poor that get the shaft, especially minorities.

I'm still trying to figure out why the media seems to care so much about some preppy tart who wandered off with strange men in a foreign country without a second thought. At least Jon Benet didn't actively court her death.

knock it off. There's pleny of coverage for the black community. Every morning there's something on the news about some gang shooting. Or some little kid being killed while they are in their home and they get hit by a stray bullet.
You don't hear about EVERY white person, either.
I've only heard of 2 or 3 in the past 10 years that I can remember. And usually it's because that person is missing or the crime is so heinous and they have no clues.
give up the racist crap, it doesn't work.. whiner.

You certainly have a point, but remember this little girl was murdered in her own home with family present in the home. That is unusual. Children are most often taken and then murdered elsewhere. I think that since the Ramsey's were at first suspects, it also brought another twist to the story.

Not alot. It isnt fair, or equal, but its reality. There are many missing children, half I am sure are other races. The press doesnt give them airtime, I think because the socioeconomical status. It sucks, but thats it. Also, not all missing notorious kids are rich. White, yes. But not rich.
