What do you think of American men looking for wives/servants from poorer countries?

I think it is a sad thing, when men interview for a wife from the Phillipines, Asai, etc. They want these women to do every thing they want. So they are slaves, cooking , cleaning and do whatever the men want in bed. A friend is interviewing a few, he wants to make sure the will do everything in bed, cook and clean and help out with his kids. What happened to LOVE. These woman sell themselves out for a green card that the man will always be able to hold over them to keep them.

I always didn't understand why people do that. But then I realized that's because American woman will not put up with their crap. But like you said woman from those countries will put up with them to live here and think that their going to be free, but then they end up over here slaving to these low down men that have no respect for them. It's a sad thing.

Well, I guess there's a bit of everything out there, don't you think? I am from South America and I don't meet strangers online any more, but there was a time when I did and I have to admit some were really irritating.

There was one once that said the actress in Spanglish reminded him of me. The funny thing is I speak English well, we don't look alike, and I don't have a child. I wonder what we did have in common... that we were from DIFFERENT Spanish-speaking countries? LOL

And I know the following will sound made-up (or at that's what I'd think if someone else told the story LOL), but can you believe that after exchanging mails with a guy (say five times??? TOP) he asked me to marry him???? LOL Well, he said he was a successful accountant I think, and that he had to work just six months a year... so we'd be on holiday travelling all over the world every year, for six months! I suppose he thought it'd sound attractive to me, but in fact it sounded both insulting and boring. WHO would like to marry someone, not work, and travel that much???

Oh well... I think that narrow-minded attitude (if not brainless Ooops! :P) is just proof of the kind of person they are. I pity them.

As for the women that let men treat them as slaves, I'm sorry for them too. They have absolutely no self-esteem whatsoever.

So thinking about it, aren't they made for each other??? What's wrong with a marriage of that kind? One expects a servant and thinks he's the cleverest being on earth, the other is willing to be the slave (for some reason or other, never love though :( ). If THAT is what they think is best for them, so be it! They have some balance after all: too much-too little = enough. ;) hahaha

And as for 'what happened to LOVE?'... well, one needs to be intelligent even to be able to love (and mind you, a university degree is no proof of intelligence, no matter what some people may say ;) ). One needs to know priorities in life, to know that people are neither worthless nor Gods (luckily there's only one, and... He's not exactly SELF-centred, is He? ;) (Thank God!)). One needs to know the meaning of RESPECT. And finally, one needs to have felt loved some time in life. Oh... well... No, NOT anyone can love. We are the lucky ones!

It's not only the phillipines but it is also known in RUssia as well.I have though heard a few stories where once the women are in Canada or the states once they have settled in many times they leave those men anyways !!!! MOney your right can't buy love and can not hold someone who is seeking the so called dream of the lap of luxury with you forever

wow,from a womans point of view.i was married for 20 years and she cheated on me,throwing me back into the dating scene.ilove to dance,so i met a lot of women and i know why a lot of them are single and will never find someone else.i sure did not want any of them to be my partner.i know what your friend is looking for,but i believe he' looking in the wrong places.in our term, he is looking for someone that is not Americanized like you with your opinions of a wifes duties.now do not get me wrong,if both of you work then the work is shared.we are not looking for a slave.remember this is a free country.he gets a mail order bride,has a few kids,learns the ways of the modern day women,divorces him gets child support,boy does know what he might be getting himself in for.look,whats wrong with cooking, and sex?if more ladies appreciated men and treated them right,then he would not be considering this avenue.this is coming from the Father of 6 kids who got up in the middle of the night to take care of the babbies,washed clothes with my wife,did all the cooking because hers was terrible,cashed my pay check and gave it all to her.i didnot pawn my kids off on anyone else,heck i took them every where.i would get in the shower and take one child at a time and give them a shower with me and when i was through i would hand to the oldest and next.in the old days there was a balance.now days women talk like you and that is a big part of why there are so many divorces.no diginity,respect,consideration, heck i could go on and on and i guess it was the slave word that you used.is that what you really believe that it is to love and to take care of your man?

They do the same here in Australia. Older men seem to want 'mail order brides'. I find it to be very discriminating. There is a particular stereo typical kind of male who desires such a wife" He is usually well over 50, bald, fat stomach, already has a grown family and is retired!
I think Aussie women have strong minds of their own, which is the reason why these Aussie so-called men desire an Asian wife.
I find the whole process quite disgusting.

Its not really a surprise when women such as yourself make highly speculative assumptions that Asian women are slaves, only wanted for cooking, cleaning and sex and never LOVE.

I suppose the fact that an Asian woman can wear a size 8 and weigh 110lb without dieting her whole life, wont get grey hair till her 60's, wont start to wrinkle till her 50's, will introduce new culture and language into the relationship, that the 'green card' thing works both ways (who wouldn't want residency in a tropical paradise country and well as US citizenship), that she cooks and cleans because she enjoys it and only wants her man to relax after work...i suppose all that just escaped you did it?, we just want Asian women for slaves and servants?

I guess what your saying is that you don't want to make your man happy in the bedroom, or do anything he wants, or cook, or clean or help out with the kids, maybe your a 400lb carpet munching lesbian man hater, no wonder your friend is looking abroad, over vocal, uneducated, culturally insensitive, ignorant, racist, feminist trailer trash like you is driving men away from western women the world over.

I think it is a shame how man take advantages of these womens and they have no one to back them up and help them out but you can't say they are selling themselves they are making a choice between poverty or a home to call their own there are a lot of different situtiations out there that you , or me no about so don't say they are selling thier selfs just be glad that you don't have to go thru what they are good luck
