No, I'm not talking about Disney-type Faeries. More like, the tricky little devils in Ireland who dance at midnight and capture humans every 7 years or so.

My college roommate did. She would say that faeries took things (shiny things like her keys) and she would leave out thimbles full of whiskey or scotch for them. She also insisted on having "hiding places" for them. I never saw one though. I didn't mind, she was always fun and a kick to be around.

Do you know the real story about where they come from?

The were a tribe of crazy Irish fighters: faery was a anglicised version of their name which is celtic and complicated as hell.

When the catholic church tried to take hold in Ireland, they found lots of resistance from the Faery clans. The catholics banished, killed and dismantled the clans...then over centuries demonised the term faery to the point where there is no written history anyway about the clans, just folk lore and songs refering to them...

These folk lores were manipluted by the church also, Mighty fighters were turned into small cute little things: their legend passed into childrens nursery rhyms...

The church really did do a proper number on them!

Yes, but not in the way you do. I don't know how to explain it, but I'll try.

Its a representation of a specific life of life forms that exist outside of our realm of consciousness. It is akin of the ethric energy that surround plants (like their divas).

Another way to look at it would be the guardian angels of the plant world.

For some people (that have a special gift of sight) this energy represents itself in the manifestation of the form of faeries?

Wow, this is out there! I think I'll have myself examined!

Yes, I believe in fairies. Disney liked the cute and easy to deal with kind. My cat also believes in them as I watched the effect they had on him as tiny invisible hands played with his ears and whiskers. No this was not my cats doing, as he looked rather p.o.ed and it is not possible for him to have done any of the moving himself. I also have a brownie who likes pancakes as he never lets me burn them or leave them raw.

Thankfully I have managed to avoid the unseelie as the seelie are a big enough pain when they decide to get in the right kind of mood to "play".

Never seen a faerie circle?

I would immensely enjoy it if they did exist.

I do. I don't know about the ones you describe, but I know people who could see fairies and were friends with them. I don't have the ability to see them, though.
