There is a key combo you can use to get it back to the way it's supposed to be.. I've done it twice and even managed to invert the display.. unfortunately, I've forgotten how I returned it to normal, but, will be researching it. Then I'm going to put the dang thing on my desktop..
*****also try ctrl-alt-up combo****
I also had this problem, and it was really hard to fix it cos i had to read upside down. It wasn't a virus or start up problem. You have to go to Control Panel,Display,Settings,Advanced,Graphics Card, Rotation!!!!

lol thats it just pick up the monitor and lay it on its side, or you could get to your desktop, right click/Properties go from there, or you might mean that your taskbar is on the side of your screen now and not on the bottom if thats the case, just drag and drop it back to the bottom (hold the mouse button down while moving the mouse)
