No he wont turn evil, but I think hes on the verge of actually being a character. So much power and history and all he does is stare at space and talk like a robot. Now he actually has a driving force and a charater that is his own. Now he has motives, now he has a driving force, now he is not just a poor-mans Superman.
More then likely he will eventually simmer down and remember the good stuff about humanity and will be a hero. Much like Namor, who inda goes back and forth.

he did once he became some flame demon or something. A member of the original martian race. I think he was called Fernus at the time.
Martian Manhunter periodically goes on walkabouts on earth to observe why he serves a hero to humans.
Many times he has been reminded.
In many ways Manhunter has been afraid to get close to human beings. This might be a vessel to allow him.
He originally kept a log on heroes and villians when he came to earth.
Yet If he does go bad Batman can defeat him, he found a way in the JLA "Tower of Babel" storyline.

The best thing he could do would be to just leave Earth. He should get reunited with the rest of the Martians and leave us to suffer on our own. We'd have to find a replacement, like maybe Yon Yonson, the Manhunter from Wisconsin.
Actually, powers like shape changing, mind reading and invisibility would be awfully useful for a bad guy. So much so, that only good guys ought to have combinations of those powers

Why not? I think that would be a great twist on things. DC needs more major villains, and Manhunter would have some definite motivations for the reasons you stated. I can't recall if he overcame his fear of fire ( I thought he did, not certain, though), but if he did, the JLA would have a difficult time defeating him. Strength level near Superman's, flight, shape-shifting, telepathy-the heroes would be hard pressed to beat him, and if they did, what next? Yeah, I would be motivated to pick up JLA again if this happens, but that's just me.....

I don't think so but if he ever did....Beware.
J'onn can turn invisible, disguise himself to be anything, has the strength and someof the same powers as Superman.
Plus he is a Martian.
He is an incredible character who could look into the brain thoughts of others and munipilate it.
My goodness if he were to turn rogue, that would be a twelve issue event.

If you've heard the stuff Ethan Van Sciver, the artist on superman/batman, said. He teased that mm's alterier "true" motives will come out. I don't know though, if I've learned one thing from current dc comics it's that you never know what to expect. I'd say the odds of him turning evil are 20:1

It looks that way, but I really hope not.
J'onn's always been the kind of incorruptible soul that held the JLA together.
He's DC's Mr. Spock.

I doubt it. It would be lame if they do, though.
