If weed was truly bad for you then they wouldn't have approved it for medicinal purposes.

Barely.. if it's a choice between weed and alcohol, weed is far healthier. Studies show it doesn't cause lung cancer (it hasn't been conclusively linked to any cancer actually), or any lasting cognitive or memory deficiencies. Over the long term smoke can gunk up your lungs and cause a "smoker's cough" or chronic bronchitus. However, marijuana use causes these things much more slowly than tobacco use due to the much smaller amount smoked.
Smokers get less tar per unit of THC when smoking from a joint or a pipe, contrary to popular beliefs about water bongs and vaporizers. The latter methods appear to lose more THC than tar, which requires the smoker to consume more total marijuana to achieve the same effect, actually increasing tar intake. So, while cooking and eating it is the absolute safest way (as long as you're not operating heavy machinery or doing a lot of driving), if you must smoke, joints and pipes help to avoid excess smoke inhalation.
It's not a good idea to do too much of ANY one thing, marijuana isn't harmful in and of itself, but don't do it so much you don't have time for the rest of your life! Besides, who has that kinda cash?

For medical reasons it's great. It's helped so many people and saved so many lives, but the government doesn't tell you about that. At the same time, it can change people's perception. Many people become paranoid. Most just chill but some will act upon that paranoia. Also, some people have slow reaction times which isn't safe when operating heavy machinery. To use it and become inactive isn't good for you but I know many people who have used it for years but stayed active and healthy with no problems.

Anything in excess is bad for you so if you use too much, yes. Also any type of smoke is bad for your lungs. That being said...a little here and there to relieve cramps or nausea works great and makes you feel fine! =)

Some people use it to help them deal with strong chemo therapy treatments for cancer, and it is legal in some states to use medicinally. Pot can cause memory loss, it does reduce brain cells. I don't think it is a good idea to use it as a drug. It is also illegal.

The medical results are mixed. However, I can't believe sitting around in a stupor is good for you. Everyone I know who started smoking went downhill and never gave a damn again. Don't do it.
