English is our national language. As America is a multi-cultural country, quite naturally, we will speak multiple languages as we have unlimited ethnic bases. The country started out as English and should remain that way. There has to be a diversity in the countries around the world. Otherwise, everyone would be bored crapless. I have a second cousin who teaches and fluently speaks college-level Romanian, Spanish, Portuguese, English, French, Italian and German. She is proud of her knowledge of the Romance Languages and has been teaching them for decades. She has no prejudice as to which language has precedence over the other. She is incredibly proud to help others elevate their language skills. I personally like things the way that they are. Remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31. Peace and God Bless.

I'm not sure I do. But the way things are going, I don't think we have much of a choice. But if the U.S. does adopt Spanish as its national language, I couldn't think of a better language (besides English) for the USA.
