I have a major heavy pressure between my legs that seems to start in the mid afternoon....but no contractions. The doctors say i'm not really dialated and to hold out until monday. Anyone know what causes this pain?

I'm sorry this this probably such a stupid lot of questions.

My question is how do I aleviate this pressure? It's getting so uncomfortable.. Does a pillow between the legs work? It's getting almost to the point I can't walk but the lovely Navy doctors say to just stick it out until Monday...

Please any help would be so wonderful!

I don't know what causes it but I felt like my daughter was sitting between my knees my entire pregnancy with her. The further along I got the worse it got. The only relief I could get was to sling my leg across my husbands legs at night. Both of us on our sides and me facing his back. i don't know why this worked but I slept that way a lot! Good Luck.

Sounds like the little one is really low. To relieve that pressure, elevate your feet and legs taking pressure off that area. I would lay on the couch with my legs over the side of the couch and have a pillow to support my back the higher I could get the more relieve I had. If it gets to contraction go to ER room.

I felt a lot of pressure when I was pregnant with my daughter and I kept going in and they kept sending me home finally I went in and they broke my water! and I went into labor! Is there anyway that you can have vaginal birth, just curious because would never want to have a C-section if I didn't have to. Just lay back and relax. If you start having steady contractions then you need to go in to the ER! Congrats on the baby!

Well when a woman gets close to labor she begins to feel all kinds of pain, some even get extremely cranky. I would have to say that that pressure you are feeling is from the fact that you may be close to giving birth. Atleast, I'm presuming that you are close to giving birth.I would say that as soon as you have that C section then the feeling will go away. Good luck and Gob bless your family :)

This is not a stupid question. If it is severe, go to a local ER. Don't let them tell you to wait. You know your body better than anyone - they may not want to admit you because lack of room, short staff, or any number of reasons.
Take care and good luck on that new little one.

Two options, listen to those morons, or go to a civilian gyno.. of course, if you go to the civilian gyno, you'll probably have to pay, champus is such a butt about that kind of stuff..
What do your lady friends who've been pregnant tell you to do about the pressure?
Check your circle of friends, and get their input.
