1963 was the first year for the Sting Ray. It was also the first time a coupe was available and the first time independent suspension was offered. The car was very popular and sales doubled over the pervious year. Production totaled 21,314 for both the coupe and convertible Corvette. Engines were all 327 cubic inch small blocks and horse power ranged from 250HP to 360 HP depending on the version selected. Performance times ranged from 5.9 seconds to 7.2 seconds from 0-60 MPH. Quarter mile times ranged from 14.6 seconds to 15.5 seconds.
The cars are very collectable today and sell for much more than a new Corvette.

'63. Around '68, the split window '63s were considered ugly and they were selling VERY cheap, as everyone wanted the one piece rear window model that came out in '64. DANG! wish I had bought 3 or 4.
