My recommendation is not a hotel, but a search engine. When planning my wedding on Thanksgiving weekend in Chicago, I booked many of my relatives with hotwire.com. You don't know what hotel you're going to get, but in Chicago, anything with 4-stars is great. Most of my relatives found 4-stars for less that $75 a night. One of them even booked the W-Hotel on Lakeshore drive for about $90 a night. It's the swankiest place here!

For good rooms and good service, I like Hotel Monaco. It's a block off the Mag mile, has a great restarant, and typically has a 5pm free wine hour. Coffee and tea are free in the morning and it's pet friendly. So, if y'all are staying there you can chill for drinks in the lobby really cheaply. I liked it. I think it's near michigan and wabash. Really excellent location.

If you don't care about service, book with hotwire.

For a large family group, you might want to consider a place where you can get suites or even townhouses like the Marriott Residence Inn in Deer field.

You can cut your meal costs because you have a kitchen. You'll also have non-bedrooms to hang out in.

I went to a wedding last weekend and three couples split the cost of a three bedroom townhouse. It worked out very well.

The Best Westen on Cicero is nice, plus there is a Banquet hall right next door to it, so its like killing two birds with one stone if you plan on having a Banquet.
