Writing software to perform a reasonably complicated task is a major undertaking. Software is not easy to develop; corporate software (such as available from Adobe, Apple, Microsoft, etc.) usually takes tens of programmers and support staff many years to develop.
If you want to learn to program, you will need to pick a computer language, such as C, C++, Java, Ruby, etc. The choice of language depends on what kind of program you are writing. For typical desktop applications, C and it's many variants have been the preferred language for many years. You will also need either a compiler (for C, C++) or an interpreter (for Ruby, Perl) depending on the language.
Depending on how you learn, you can probably pick up a book and ask questions on online forums, but taking courses is the best method.

I agree with the answers above; it's not easy.
Most people would study it for quite a few months at the very least before being able to write software of any type.
However, you CAN learn it by yourself, but you will need to be very motivated and systematic and you will need to devote a lot of time to it. Give yourself projects to work on. Start by designing a webpage fully or partially in html.

No, its pretty hard, and expensive. It takes a long time in order to get everything exactly right and running correctly. You also have to be trained to do it (in most cases) A word of advice: It's software, not softwares!
