Well...you can forget the whole, "Oh god your accent is so sexy" thing down in Sydney, the place is crawling with Brit backpackers, so much so that there are TWO beach suburbs there that have nothing but Brits making up the population, so that novelty wont get you anywhere. These suburbs, btw are Cogee and Bondi Beach...BOTH excellent places though, especially Bondi Beach, a MUST SEE.
In the CBD of Sydney, you could try the Slip Inn or head down to Darling Harbour/Cockle Bay and try out the cool little clubs there. If you're more of a noise maker, head to the backpacker bars in King's Cross. Go to the Empire...24 hr club, four floors, good tunes. The Cross is also worth a look at night just because of the fact that red light districts are a load of fun. There are also hostels by the boat load in the Cross so other travelers abound.
Take time to just walk around the city too, it's one of the prettiest modern cities I have ever been to. The Botanical Gardens are right beside the Opera House, just follow the quay keeping the water on your left and you'll find yourself in these amazing gardens. Circular Quay itself is also awesome. Visit The Rocks (just ask and you'll get there easily). The city transport system is awesome too...easy to follow and train stations every few blocks.
All in all, have fun...I lived in that city for two years and I have nothing but great memories.

In Sydney you can take pleasure in the organic beauty. From unspoilt beaches to public gardens and, needless to say, the sparkling harbour, Sydney is a town worth visited and with hotelbye you could have the chance to do that. The Sydney Harbour Bridge or "Coathanger," while the natives call it is among the areas you shouldn't skip in your journey here. That place was the city's best-known landmark just before structure of the Opera House. Reinforced by substantial dual piers at each end, it absolutely was built-in 1932 and stays the world's greatest material arc bridge, joining the harbour's north and south shores within a contour growing 134 metros over the water. Along its length run two railway lines and nine lanes for road traffic, the way of which can be various in accordance with traffic flow. Also, to master concerning the exciting history of the bridge's construction you are able to go to the memorial in the south-eastern pier.

if you want the real aussie experience
Think there are raves in the suburbs but seriously kings cross is not all its made out to bbe and carteful in darling harbour liooks trendy but you can be mugged there and they target tourists.
Foodwaise paddies market on sunday... 1/3 pricve of supermarkets... if you can go with mates and buy crates of each and split the proceeds and get a cab or car.
Work wise try exhibition labour in the exhibition centre.
Actually Id suggest you and some lads go off and see the wild aussie bar the oxford tavern on jelly wrestling night where the girls have a fun time too.
Petersham station, purple line. if you make the connections 20min from kings cross. up bridge, right end or bridege left, walk up to main road, turn right 200m or so up the raod called ritas as well.
Seriously its NOTHING like a normal strip joint more like frat house party with the aussie guys actuing like 15 year old hhorny teenagers and the atmosphere is wet t shirt with the girls in the pit your mates...
Often girls in the crowd to.
(DONT GET STUCK in Kings X WASTING YOUR TIME) everywhere out of sydney is better.

Fly by seaplane over Sydney harbour and coastal beaches. Climb the Bridge, experience the Opera House and many other attractions. Walk around, all year round and learn about Sydney's history. See native animals, bushland and Botanical Gardens right in the city. Attend theatre, events and exhibitions. Shop. Dine in ‘eat streets’ and world-acclaimed restaurants. You will meet single women in any of these!

Take the boat trip over to the old Olympic Stadium. the stadium is interesting enough but really it's the trip which is cool.
If you're fit and fancy it, climb the bridge - you'll never regret it. Well, not once you've recovered anyway! Lonely Planet Guides are the best for Aussie. You can borrow one from the library but it's handy to have a copy with you. Have fun!
