If you're using WiFI, no, because the range is very limited and by the time that your computer negotied with the wireless access point, you would have already driven out of range -- even at speeds as slow as 20 MPH.

If you have card from a Wireless provider like Sprint or Verizon Wireless, then yes, you can drive along and remained connected to the internet.

Your laptop probably has a WiFi 802.11a/b/g card. The coverage of 802.11 is fairly small with limited support of mobility. You can use it in Starbucks, airports, etc. where there are public access point - you may have to pay though.

If you want to use your wireless card while being in a moving car, you can get a GPRS/EDGE card from Cingular or a EV-DO card from Sprint, Verizon. Those card will allow you to connect to the Internet while being in a moving car. The monthly charge is about $60 per month; and a one time charge for the card. If you are outside the USA, you can try to get 3G data cards.

You have to be around where an wireless modem/router is (like hotels and coffee shops have them).

There is no internet consistantly in a car. So no...you can't. Unless you have an aircard that lets you hook into the internet like a cellphone...you would know if you had this.

Depends on if there is an open internet connection somewhere in the area. Sometimes people who have wireless internet in their house don't secure it so you could technically sit outside their house and mooch off of their service.

As for driving around, it's doubtful you'd get a signal strong enough and big enough to be that mobile.
