Acne is not totally caused by fatty foods or junk food in general. Acne is caused by hormones and stress. Do NOT use alcohol on the skin it dried it out causing MORE acne because the dead skin cells clog the pours. I suggest that if it is really bad to take her to the doctor some doctors prescribe a mild anitibiotic for acne that works very well. .

It is a myth that eating certain foods can cause break outs. I would recommend having her cleanse her face morning and night with a mild soap and using egg whites as an astringent for a low cost solution. If you would truly like to resolve the problem and are willing to spend around 30.00 a month, I highly recommend the product line Proactive Solution. I am sure you have seen the commercials for it on TV. You can also order it online. It is a wonderful product and it truly works!!! My skin and my daughter's skin has never been clearer or more beautiful. Several celebrities endorse and actually use this product as well. It is a three step process and takes just a few minutes morning and night. You will see results in just a few days. It is awesome. Sean "P-diddy" Combs, Jessica Simpson, and several others endorse this product line. Give it a try, you will not be disapointed.

Besides a dermatologist - there's not much you can do.
She'll need to cut out the grease in her diet. She also needs to be drinking plenty of water, and lay off the soda. Being hydrated helps keep the skin clear. She needs to wash her face every morning & night, and not go to bed with makeup. If she is wearing makeup, makeup does not significantly cover up acne, and will make it worse. Tea tree has a really good acne wash. Cleanses, and not harsh.
But, if she doesn't want to make some changes to control her acne - well...then she's ok with having acne. It's as simple as that. Ask her what she wants. Sure, we all like twinkies but we don't want to get fat. So we either limit our amounts, or stay away from them. Life choices.

My daughter had the same problem and no matter what she ate, it made no difference. When we finally went to the doctor, we had a notebook sheet with a list of all the different products that she had tried - and a lot of them were pretty expensive - and none of them really worked.
The doctor put her on a low dose antibiotic and some liquid stuff that she puts on at night and it was like magic. Should have taken her WAY sooner.....don't delay or you might be dealing with scarring.

i dont think i would do it but the contraceptive pill can help...
vitamin e cream
go and see a doctor there are many products that can help
make sure she doesnt squeeze them though and teach her the importance of how it can possible scar her for life
look up some photos on the internet
she should only wash her face twice a day and moisturise it twice a day... no more... otherwise she can be adding to the problem and irritating her skin...
i would definately go to the doctor first before going to a beauty salon for a quick fix...
also encourage her to drink more water

Hey there,
My little brother had the same issue. He uses the Clearasil cleansing pads, and as long as he keeps up with it regularily it does great. However, you can tell when he slacks off and forgets. It's cheap and effective. There are also lots of other clearasil products that she could use. Neutrogena also has lots of acne products that probably would seem really appealing to your daughter.
Good luck :)

Get her Equate Daily Face Wash and have her wash her face every morning when she wakes up and every night before she goes to bed. Have her also use those medicated pad/wipe things twice a day. Also, I don't know the name but I know the brand is Equate and its a cream that you put on zits. Have her put that on all the areas where there are alot of zits. This is the routine I go through everyday and my face is zit free! :-)

Well, the hell with you! Have u asked what she feels about herself? Have YOu? I'm probably her age and when i was younger, i got a lot of zits and fat. She's gonna grow into them. Soon, people started commenting on the wieght I've lost. I JUST GOT TALLER!, that's it.
For the zits, i say, use proactivve. My BFF used it on her skin and she went from pizza face to pretty face. Just over the summer.

Explain to her that fatty foods will clog her pores and just add to the problem of her acne. Facial washes may help but if her diet is poor this may just be a waste of money. Also drink plenty of water!!
