Stapping Young Lad is POSSIBLY better than Ozzy by himself, but it's close.

Ozzy, clear and simple. With Sabbath and Toni Ioni, he essentially invented metal. Then, he had the independent Ozzy Osbourne albums in which Randy Rhodes, perhaps the best lead metal guitarist ever, birthed some of the best tunes of their day. The bottom line: he is a living classic, everything he does endures, and he's an innovator. Ozzy remains the "Prince of Darkness"
The answer to your question:
Hard question! In the genre, I don't think anybody beats it. Van Halen was the 1st successor of Randy Rhodes, yet I believe the only thing that comes close is Metallica (1st 5 albums) and then Pantera, whose late Dimebag Darrel might have been the only guitar god to equal Rhodes.

Holy Sh*t !.....I thought I was the only one in here old enough to appreciate Ozzy or Maiden!
If you appreciate truly thoughtful lyrics and melodies....go for Iron Maiden! I've seen them I don't know how many times!
Their best sh*t is everything from Live After Death on back to the first self-titled album....didn't really care for Somewhere In Time or anything after it.
If you just wanna see an awesome sick-*** rock show.....go for Ozzy.
Personally I love Iron Maiden.....Judas Priest is better tho'....

i like metallica and black sabbath better than iron maiden, not a fan of iron maiden, ozzy is awesome as hell can't compare to some of his stuff.
kiss also rocks but i dont think they'll be concidered the same genre aren't they more old school hard rock or something? i forgot...

the two compared with eachother, ozzy would have to win. but iron maiden is also freakin awesome. go to ozzfest next year and you'll see sweet bands like them live.
