i have made a modeling portfolio, now what is my next step? do i schedule an appointment with an agency,or what? thanks

Right...I do some modelling myself and before you can do anything you need an agent. I didn't apply for it myself, I was scouted when I was shopping with my boyfriend but as far as I know you ask to see the agent manager and explain to them that you would like to join the agency and have a ready portfolio. If they are interested they will schedule a time for you to come in and they will have a look at your portfolio. I have to warn you that these people are brutally honest, so don't take any comments personally. If they are interested they will put you on their books and arrange a contract signing.
But please check out the agencies legitimacy before you go looking for one...there are A LOT of bogus agencies.

Contact an agency. They will take their own shots. A reputable agency does not require a fee, nor do they charge for pictures. Watch out for scams.
