of course there are and were so many gifted singers. but of them all who would you say had the PUREST voice?? i would say luther vandross. would you agree? if not tell me who u think might be?

Mariah Carey has the most technically flawless pop/R&B voices I've ever heard, but I don't think she's the best singer. The best singers to me are the ones that can give me chills. People like Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Vince Gill, Kelly Clarkson, Roy Orbison, Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline etc have given me chills. The best/puriest vocalist on the radio these days is hands down Kelly Clarkson... yeah, get past the stigma and listen and you get a new appreciation for her vocal prowess. I listened to a track called "Beautiful Disaster" on her Breakaway album, and there was just no denying how amazing that kid is... definitely an amazing voice in an era full of "posers". People say Xtina Aguilera is great, but I just don't see it. The over use of melisma...the tightness in the upper range... meh, Christina is good, but she is NOT the best pure vocalist imo.

Ann Wilson from Heart. Not only can she cover Led Zepplin (why I don't choose Robert Plant), but she has more variety (she has mastered every style of music made except rap which is just talking).

i think the person who has the purest voice is seira frm mermaid melody pichi pichi pure. (who cares if it's anime?) and srry, i dunno luther vandross and 4 the best singer,... lemme think about it.
