Not in the US. Petite clothing is generally designed for women 5' 3" and under, and tall clothing is generally for about 5'8" and over, so I guess 5'7" is the high end of average. At least you don't have to adjust all of your pants!

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
(Note "mean" = average)
During 1999--2002,
the mean weight of men aged 20 was approximately 190 lbs. and the mean height was approximately 5 ft., 9 in.;
among women, the mean weight was approximately 163 lbs. and the mean height was approximately 5 ft., 4 in.
So, your answer is Yes, she would be considered tall.

I would think that to be more on the taller side of average these days. At 5'9" I'm not even considered "tall" in some circles anymore.

Well maybe by 2 or 3 inches but trust me there are women who are taller than that. So don't feel too bad you're still about the right height.

I'd say you are on the edge of being tall...to me that's not that tall...I'm 5'10'' and I love it. It depends who you're standing next to. You're probably average for a woman.

I think 5'6 is average heoght for a woman. So I don't think 5'7 is considered tall for a woman.
