I think so. I'm already planning to disregard every answer that disagrees with me. Of course, you might be correct and I may be incorrect. But if Simon & Garfunkel are right neither one of us will change our minds or convince the other he or she is wrong.

In psychology, those people who can hear only those he wanted to hear is somewhat different in a certain "character" with other people. In simple terms, these people maybe spoiled brat, moody, less intellectual, or maybe half-deaf. But I am pretty sure, a normal person with a normal thinking do not think that way, although he may choose to be that way, he still won't be able to keep up that way for the rest of his life.

Simon and Garfunkel are right 99.5% of the time. The 0.5% aren't "enlightened, open-minded" people, for the most part, but people who you happen to catch at the right time.

It's true. There is no way I or you can change each other nor have a positive/ negative effect on the other unless we choose to let it effect us. Including what we hear, or if we hear. That's what I think anyway.

It's called selective deafness, and it is alive and well and living at my house. Although, I must admit, I am female and I have also contracted it. I use it mostly at the office.

Yes.... You have to stress and definitely get their full attention if you want to be heard. But, not to the point where it stresses you out. Only for the chores!!!!!
