Two very different questions.
To the first, the answer is ... just a look and maybe a hand stretched out for me to take.
To the second ... I don't know. Maybe a realisation that our paths were due to part?
They do say that people come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you will know exactly what to do.

To be my friend, it is important that the person is easy going, not up-tight, open to others interpretations, but has their own ideas and ideals about life. They must also understand their own self-worth, show respect to others and be honest. A deal breaker for me is a person who is not truthful and people who want to reap rewards without work.

Someone that takes me just as I am faults and all. If you tried to use me or if you were dishonest or not loyal that would end it. I have just a few friends and I pick them very carefully.

Convince me I can trust them.
Of course, by implication, that gives you the answer to your second question.
