yes. GO to the specific county governments website and research property tax records. It will show you the price the property was purchased and also the date of the purchase. This is public information.

Actually, what was paid for a house isn't public information in many parts of the country. However, it is often easy to estimate based on the stamp duty charged for recording the deed(s). Some counties post this on line and others don't.

This is public record information. Some counties have it online, others don't. On zillow, you have to prove you're human by entering the standard distorted digits correctly, but I just checked a few, and they were actually correct.

It depends on where.

For example, Sarasota County Florida has that info on the property appraiser's website for every transaction recorded on a property.

Aiken County SC you have to go to the tax assessors office and request the info.

you can call the assessor's office in the county the home is located. they can tell you the assessed value (which is NOT the same as the appraised value), and the sales price of the home the last time it was sold.

however, do NOT assume that this is what the home is worth, because market value can only be determined by an appraisal.
