could be a clogged fuel filter or a fuel sensor gone bad.

I had a 1997 Cavalier and I can tell you from experience its the fuel injectors. I had the same problems, thought the same thing too. Fuel pump was good, fuel filter had junk in it, got a new one. But enough junk had passed thought the filter to jack up the injectors. Trust me on this. Check your injectors.

If you are absolutely sure it's a fuel problem, you may want to look at the fuel pressure regulator. It's way down by the intake. Good luck.

cars aren't simple as one answer, but if you are sure its the fuel system, check the fuel filter and clean the injectors. it could also be the alternator or starter. these two can usually be checked for free at an auto parts store.

I would have to go with the filter, the sensor, or water vapor in the lines.
