yes a dehumidifier will help a lot, Febreeze might help on your clothes too.

Try hanging them in a room with a window open and maybe some dryer sheets in the pockets for a fresh smell

De- humidifier, quite cheap.
Or, the best way is to run a copper wire about 1 foot from the felt line of your brickwork all around your house.

use fabreeze
i once had an orange rot in my trunk, it was so bad... the only thing that did the trick was febreeze....a lot of it.
